A person who professed that if one wishes to receive God's charisma, whoever it is should be willing to have an oil massage done by him and had been involved in such a massage on a 21 year old female living alone in Anamaduwa area. After her clothes were put aside for the purpose, the person referred to has attempted to commit a sexual offence on her and had been taken into custody by the police. It is a clergyman who is supposed to be belonging to the Pentecost denomination who is said to have attempted to carry out such an act on the said 21 year old female living in Gurupokunagama area in Anamaduwa. He happens o be a 51 year old member of the clergy in Konwala Kanda area in Anamaduwa. The suspect-clergyman had been conducting a religious place and further had been involved in the process of making people in the area switch over to his religion. This clergyman had throughout the past visited homes of persons who became attached to his faith and had been conducting some prayer by annointing oil on their bodies, saying that if such a treatment would be undergone, he or she would receive God's charisma. This clergyman has managed to convince the female who faced these consequences as well as members of her family to become attached to his faith. On last 2nd of this month, this person had visited her knowing that she was alone at home and while engaged in annointing oil on her body, it is revealed from inquiries that he had tried his pranks on her.Therefore, although she had given him permission to apply the oil after removing the dress, he had unanticipatedly tried to indulge in husband-wife relationships with her instead of annointing oil, as revealed in investigations. The woman concerned had told her husband about this incident which was committed by the clergyman when he returned home. Later the husband had approached the clergyman and during the course of inquiring about the said incident, a clash had occured. In the process,a supposed relative of the clergyman had mediated in the scene and the husband of the woman had an exchange of words ending up in an assault. As such, according to a complaint made by the husband to Anamaduwa Police, the suspect-clergyman has been taken into custody. The suspect is expected to be produced in Anamaduwa District Courts.
